WHO WE ARE
Daniel H. Broadbent, owner of The Jeweler's Bench, grew up in Provo, graduated from Provo High in 1978, and attended BYU before serving an LDS mission. Upon his return, he moved to San Jose, CA. where he got started in the jewelry business in 1981 as an apprentice in a custom jewelry store. Dan received training in the field of diamonds from the Gemological Institute of America, and in the jewelry arts from Revere Academy. He became a jewelry shop manager in 1984, and then in 1989 he moved to Utah and opened his own wholesale jewelry shop, where he created the custom jewelry for many of the other jewelry shops in town.
In 2001, he opened his first retail jewelry store, The Jeweler's Bench, at 275 North University Avenue in Provo. Dan and his staff enjoy the one-on-one interaction as they work with clients to provide exactly what they need and want, not just what's in stock. "The neatest thing about having the retail store," says Dan, "is that I get to work directly with the people who will be enjoying the jewelry."
Dan and his wife, Marilyn, have five children ranging in ages from 15 to 26. Dan is active in local politics as a precinct chair and enjoys gardening, hiking and listening to classical music. He served on the Board of Directors for the Provo-Orem Chamber of Commerce and is a member of The Downtown Business Alliance of Provo where he serves on the Board of Directors and on various committees. Dan also enjoys serving the community in various volunteer organizations.
